Siderperu implements sustainability program at schools

Siderperu, Gerdau's operation in Peru, is developing the “Schools for Sustainable Development” program,
which is an environmental education project conducted at 15 schools in the cities of Chimbote, Nuevo
Chimbote, Santa, and Coishco.

Directed by the Gerdau Institute, the project will benefit more than 8,000 students and about 360 teachers
from public schools through actions to increase environmental awareness at schools and in the community
in general. The main goal of the project is for the schools to be granted the certification Ecoefficient Schools,
making them cleaner, safer, and healthier.
