Jorge Gerdau Johannpeter is highlighted in reputation ranking

Press release

Jorge Gerdau Johannpeter has been elected Brazil’s most remarkable leader, according to ranking published by Exame magazine following studies carried out by Spanish consultancy Merco and a Brazilian Institute of Public Opinion and Statistics (Ibope) opinion poll. Such achievement is primarily due to his work over more than three decades at the helm of Gerdau, long-steel segment leader in the Americas and one of the world’s main providers of special steels. The entrepreneur is also president of the Federal Government’s Council on Management, Performance and Competitiveness Policy and a founder of the “All for Education Movement”.

The ranking was compiled from interviews with some 450 Brazilian executives and evaluations by more than 250 specialists such as financial analysts, representatives of NGOs and consumer associations, along with votes from the public. The same survey also singled out companies with the best reputation in the country and Gerdau was placed in sixth position – the highest among Brazilian steel producers.
