Gerdau promotes job training for clients in Peru

Press release

More than 600 metalworkers from the city of Trujillo in Peru participated in the Metalworkers Development
Program during the first half of this year. Aimed at an audience of greater social vulnerability, the initiative
aims to train professionals in the steel sector in order to improve technical and administrative aspects of its
activities.
During the program's development, the professionals participated in over 100 hours of technical
development and recycling seminars, and received personal protective equipment. With guidance from the
Gerdau Institute, the program is the result of a partnership between Gerdau and the German Agency for
International Cooperation (GIZ) called "Integrating the Informal Sector into Steel's Value Chain".
