Oscar Bernardes leaves the Board of Directors of Gerdau SA, Fernando Iunes is the successor

After more than ten years as a member of the Board of Directors of Gerdau S.A., Oscar de Paula Bernardes Neto is leaving the company. "It is a personal decision because I am taking on other professional challenges. I am extremely honored to have participated as an Independent Board Member to Gerdau S.A. and have enjoyed a positive professional relationship with the controlling shareholder, the Gerdau Johannpeter family, who I learned to admire for their professionalism and entrepreneurship," said Bernardes.

Claudio Gerdau Johannpeter, chairman of the Board of Directors of Gerdau S.A, highlighted Oscar Bernardes' important contributions. "Bernardes' broad strategic experience and his straightforward and independent style contributed greatly to the Board's decisions over the past decade," he said.

Fernando Fontes Iunes, Senior Advisor with Itau BBA, the institution where he has served as partner and executive director, is the new Gerdau S.A's Board of Directors' Member. Iunes has a degree in engineering, a master's degree and a Phd degree from the University of London. He has broad experience in financial markets and is now joining the Board of Gerdau S.A., which remains unchanged all other members. "Given our long history as a listed company, the Iunes' arrival will contribute to the Board with its distinctive strategic knowledge in the financial and capital markets, certainly contributing to the decision-making process," says Claudio Gerdau Johannpeter.
