Environmental Management System

Gerdau believes that business continuity is related to environmental performance. This concern is reflected in its daily practices, in investments for continuous upgrading of equipment and in its environmental awareness-raising programs.

Following this principle, all Gerdau plants have adopted the Environmental Management System under ISO standard 14001 and have arranged for the analysis of thousands of industrial activities. The objective is to ensure a full overview of the process, from the use of raw materials, through the industrial and product-distribution stages, to the appropriate destination for the by-products generated in the process.

In addition, the Environmental Management System involves the associates directly, increasing their commitment to results obtained in their area. Click below to see how the Environmental Management System works, step by step:

THE PCDA CYCLE

The basic principle of the Environmental Management System, according to ISO 14001, is the PDCA cycle - plan, do, check and act.
