Dear Shareholders and public at large: GERDAU issues this alert regarding the action of scammers who are trying to extort money by requesting a down payment in order to guarantee a supposed right to receive amounts related to shares.

GERDAU attests to the following:

• No one, whether an individual, company employee, or someone representing a company, has been given authorization to make any contact with companies or individuals using its name for intermediating any type of operation with shares or payment of rights, whether issued by its companies or by incorporated companies.



• Anyone interested in trading GERDAU shares should always contact a brokerage firm who will be able to intermediate the buying or selling of shares on the stock exchange.



• We have an exclusive contract with Banco Itaú S.A. as the financial institution authorized by CVM to provide customer services and to record book entry shares for the shareholders of its companies.
